Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 2025

Our Commitment to Privacy

Flow is designed with privacy as a core principle. We believe your financial data belongs to you and only you. That's why Flow processes all your bank transaction data entirely within your web browser - nothing is ever sent to our servers.

Data Collection

What We Don't Collect

  • Your bank transaction files or financial data
  • Personal identifying information from your uploads
  • Account numbers, balances, or transaction details
  • Any data you upload to the visualization tool

What We May Collect

  • Analytics data: Anonymous usage statistics such as page views, browser type, and general geographic region to help improve our service
  • Error logs: Technical error information (not including your financial data) to help us fix bugs

How Flow Works

When you upload a bank statement to Flow:

  1. The file is read directly by your web browser
  2. All parsing and visualization happens locally on your device
  3. Your data never leaves your computer
  4. When you close or refresh the page, all data is automatically cleared
  5. No cookies are used to store your financial information

Third-Party Services

We may use the following third-party services:

  • Google Analytics: To understand how visitors use our site (anonymized data only)
  • Google AdSense: To display relevant advertisements. Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.

Cookies

Flow itself does not use cookies to store your data. However, third-party services like Google Analytics and Google AdSense may use cookies for analytics and advertising purposes. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.

Data Security

Since your financial data never leaves your browser, it's protected by your own device's security measures. We recommend keeping your browser and operating system updated to ensure optimal security. Flow is served over HTTPS to protect against man-in-the-middle attacks.

Children's Privacy

Flow is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new privacy policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
